MISSION STATEMENT

WHO WE ARE
NorCal Services for Deaf & Hard of Hearing is a non-profit community-based organization serving Deaf individuals in 24 northeastern counties of California.

Founded and managed by a group of Deaf leaders, NorCal has been an organization ‘of, by and for’ the Deaf community since 1977.

“Deaf” is used to be inclusive and encompasses individuals who are Deaf, hard of hearing, late-deafened, Deaf with developmental disabilities, and Deaf-Blind, Deaf Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC).

VISION
It is our vision that Deaf individuals have the basic human right to have access and opportunities to services, education and employment equal to those who can hear.

MISSION

EMPOWER Deaf individuals to live independently and productively within the greater society.

ADVOCATE for equal access and opportunities for Deaf individuals in our society.

EDUCATE family members, service providers, employers and the general public of the unique communication needs, abilities and accomplishments of Deaf children and adults.
