Our headquarters is located just to the north of Sacramento in North Highlands. We are conveniently located a short walk away from the Watt/I-80 light rail station and just off Interstate-80. NorCal’s headquarters is a busy hub with many staff, administrators, volunteers, and clients in and out every day. NorCal’s CEO, Sheri A. Farinha, works in the HQ office. Being so close to the State Capitol, the NorCal HQ office prides itself on being a leader in Community Outreach and Advocacy for Deaf and hard of hearing people.
We have a day program, for Deaf developmentally disabled adults called EXCEL. A busy Communications Department, dispatching interpreters all over northern California. We have several employment programs to assist our Deaf and hard of hearing clients to find employment or to further their job skills.

Welcome to our serene Redding office.
As our northern-most office, Redding provides services as far west as Weaverville; east to Burney and Susanville; and north to Yreka and Mount Shasta! We’re minutes from the infamous Sundial Bridge, Whiskeytown Lake, Mount Lassen and Mount Shasta. Redding is the ‘go to’ destination for activities such as hiking, biking, camping, sailing, skiing, as well as events such as: the Redding Rodeo week, and Kool April Nites.

One of our busiest offices, Stockton, is home to one of our longest running events, the Annual Deaf Family BBQ! The office is a short distance from San Joaquin Delta College.

Beautiful Yuba City is surrounded by rural farmland, a view of the majestic Sutter Buttes, rice fields, and orchards of walnuts, prunes, and peaches. Our office is located a block away from the Yuba City DMV and Police Department. The Yuba City Outreach Coordinator is Kim Dethlefsen.

OUR SERVICES INCLUDE
Ensure businesses and government agencies are following the ADA and their legal responsibilities by providing effective communication to you. Advocate for your child’s education rights, and attend Individual Education Plan (IEP) and Individual Family Service Plan (IFSP) meetings.
Deaf 101 workshops for businesses, government agencies, and service providers. NorCal Exhibit booths at events and fairs. NorCal organized events and socials for the Deaf and hard of hearing community. Workshops for independent life skills. Agency tours and expertise offered to classes, government agencies, and service providers.
NorCal’s weeklong summer youth leadership camp for Deaf, Hard of Hearing, CODA, and SODA children age 7-15. Teens can be mentored to become a future camp counselor in the Counselors in Training(CIT) program from 16-18 years old. Communication Services assist employers, businesses and government to provide effective communication through American Sign Language interpreting, Tactile Interpreting and Real Time Captioning. Services available for any occasion needing effective communication: medical, business, legal and more including on-call 24/7 interpreting service for medical, law enforcement and mental health emergencies.
Assist job seekers with job searching, applications and interviews. Help with Department of Rehabilitation application to receive services. Assist with unemployment insurance issues.
Advocacy and emotional support for survivors of domestic/sexual violence and stalking. Advocates will accompany survivors to hospital visits, court appointments and assist with any other resources necessary while ensuring that effective communication is provided through the entire process.
