EMPOWERMENT AND ADVOCACY SERVICES FOR EMPLOYMENT
Description: Promote successful employment of individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing.
Program provides the following services:
Review work history
Identify current job interests
Determine readiness for job
Complete a master job application
Develop a resume
Practice job interviews
Conduct a job search
Communication strategies with coworkers and supervisors
Dealing appropriately with other related work issues e.g., attendance, punctuality, work habits and attitudes
Learning and performing job tasks
Using public transportation to and from work
Meeting coworkers and supervisors
Communicating at the employment site
Resolving any work-related issues such as social security benefit changes, work schedule and transportation conflicts, and any other issues that may jeopardize the ability to continue working.
Deaf and hard of hearing adults
Age 18 or older
Referred by Department of Rehabilitation
