WHAT IS DEAFSAFE

DeafSAFE is a program providing Advocacy and Support for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Survivors 

WHO DEAFSAFE SERVES

Deaf and hard of hearing individuals who experience:

  • Domestic violence
     
  • Dating violence

  • Sexual violence

  • Stalking


WHAT CAN DEAFSAFE DO FOR SURVIVORS?

  • Listen, support you, give you tools for safety and self sufficiency

  • Help you with restraining orders, police reports, and communication access

  • Go with you to court and medical appointments You choose, you decide and we support your decision.


HOW YOU CAN HELP A SURVIVOR?

  • Always listen and believe the survivor

  • Ask the survivor how you can help

  • Respect the survivor’s decisions and boundaries

  • Keep your conversations with the survivor confidential
