EMPOWERMENT AND ADVOCACY SERVICES FOR EMPLOYMENT

Description: Promote successful employment of individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing.

Program provides the following services:

Assessment
Review work history
Identify current job interests
Determine readiness for job

Employment preparation and placement
Complete a master job application
Develop a resume
Practice job interviews
Conduct a job search
Communication strategies with coworkers and supervisors
Dealing appropriately with other related work issues e.g., attendance, punctuality, work habits and attitudes

On-the-Job Assistance
blue arrow Learning and performing job tasks
blue arrow Using public transportation to and from work
blue arrow Meeting coworkers and supervisors
blue arrow Communicating at the employment site
blue arrow Resolving any work-related issues such as social security benefit changes, work schedule and transportation conflicts, and any other issues that may jeopardize the ability to continue working.

Eligibility
blue arrow Deaf and hard of hearing adults
blue arrow Age 18 or older
blue arrow Referred by Department of Rehabilitation
